Outpatient Testing in the Heart Center Procedure Unit
Many outpatient cardiac procedures are performed in this unit, including cardioversion and thoracentesis, as well as various diagnostic tests. Heart failure patients come here to receive intravenous medicines that increase heart function.
Specialty Clinics
Cardiac patients have diverse needs, many of which are ongoing. Our specialty clinics provide a wealth of information about preventing and coping with heart disease, as well as serving the routine maintenance needs of heart patients. The clinics include:
Cardiac Rehabilitation
Our goal is to help patients to return to the activities they did before the onset of heart disease. Patients begin a supervised exercise program, meet with a dietician and receive emotional and lifestyle counseling. Weekly education sessions help patients and their families learn about heart disease, risk factor modification, and medication.
